Military & Veterans Campus FAQs
The Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Campus, situated on a 15-acre campus in Franklin, will be a center of excellence and the first-of-its-kind in New Hampshire. Designed and developed by PROCON, the campus will provide enhanced support for military community members and their families through access to a variety of services and recreation activities in one location.
What is the eligibility requirement for services and activities on the campus?
The campus is designed to welcome all service members, veterans and their families. Specific eligibility for each area (hub, recreation and retreat) will be determined by each individual provider who hosts and provides that particular service or activity.
What specific services will be provided in the hub of services?
Military and veteran services may include (but are not limited to) clinical mental health/counseling, care coordination, VA benefits/claims processing, referral to housing and employment supports, and connection to Department of Military and Veterans Services (DMAVS).
Do you have to live on the campus to utilize the services?
No. Eligibility requirements will be determined by each individual provider who hosts and provides that particular service or activity.
Are there office spaces suitable for private/confidential meetings?
Yes. Three enclosed offices are co-located with the hub space.
Are there community rooms/gathering spaces for rent by local organizations?
Yes. The retreat center building includes three gathering spaces. (numbers are the maximum allowable for unseated occupancy)
The Hub: up to 60 people
The Work Space: up to 70 people
The Conference Space: up to 200 people
Are there any outdoor gathering spaces available as rental venues or for community use?
Not currently, but please watch for Phase II updates as campus plans continue to evolve.
Does the retreat center include lodging?
The Retreat Center will be the premiere New England destination for veterans; military, nonprofit, law enforcement, and private groups, as well as families who seek indoor and outdoor developmental, training, and recreation experiences for people of all abilities. The Center includes 22 rooms and may be rented out as room blocks. Examples of possible room configurations may include:
- Six rooms, accommodating up to eight people
- Eight rooms, accommodating up to eleven people
- Eight rooms, accommodating up to ten people
All accommodations are all available for overnight rental. Lodging may be rented along with conference/meeting space or independently.
Will there be public transportation to the campus?
Concord-Laconia Connector route run by the Concord Area Transit (CAT) runs close to the campus. Currently, the closest bus stop is Franklin Industrial Park. Our transportation department is working closely with the Transportation Director for Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. (CAPBM) to apply for new stops more closely accessible to the campus.
What type of housing will be offered at the campus?
All housing units on the campus are permanent housing units.
How many housing units are on the campus and are there any units for families?
There are 30 units, five of which are two-bedroom units.
Is parking included with housing?
Yes
Does housing include utilities, appliances or furnishings?
Housing units include electricity, heat, and hot water. Kitchens are equipped with a refrigerator, dishwasher, range, oven and microwave.
Are any of the housing units ADA compliant?
Most units are ADA compliant.
What is the eligibility requirement for the housing units?
Housing unit eligibility will be governed by the voucher and program which supports that particular housing unit. Fifteen of the units will be VASH voucher eligible, and as such will follow the rules and eligibility requirements for VA housing: https://www.va.gov/housing-assistance/home-loans/eligibility/. The remaining units are supported by the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, so eligibility and cost are determined by household area median income level.
