Pre-ETS Overview

Easterseals NH Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) is a program of Youth Transitional Services that offers personal assessment, job exploration, and work-based learning experiences that align with an individual’s abilities and interests. Our goal is to prepare youth for a fulfilling job and work environment. We match teens and young adults with opportunities in Manchester, Concord, Portsmouth, Stratham, and other New Hampshire cities.

Assessment and Career Exploration

Students work one-on-one with a Pre-ETS Youth Support Specialist to complete an interest inventory, discuss their strengths, identify potential barriers to employment, create a resume, and participate in a mock interview.

Work-Based Learning Experiences

Students explore employment opportunities, participate in on-the-job training, and discover occupations that align with their interests and skills.

How it Works

We collaborate with businesses to develop a customized work-based learning experience for each student.

Students participate in a 20-hour work-based learning experience through the New Hampshire Department of Labor “School To Work” program.

Students gain experience performing a job and receive an hourly stipend.

Why Our Services Are Unique

Employer Visit, Informational Interview & Job Shadow Forms
With staff support and guidance, students actively reflect on their experience to determine if a job aligns with their interests and skills.

Work Evaluations & Soft Skills Assessments
Completed by Youth Transitional Services staff, these comprehensive evaluations gauge a student’s performance across various competencies.

Youth Transitional Services staff work collaboratively with students, New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, parents, school staff, and businesses.

One-on-One Support

Each student is supported one-on-one by an Employment Specialist or Youth Support Specialist throughout all experiences.

Work-based learning is customized to meet the needs of each student.
