Since 2018, Easterseals NH’s Youth Transitional Services (YTS) program has partnered with Port City Pretzels in Portsmouth to create meaningful employment and work-based learning opportunities.
In that time, 15 individuals have gained hands-on experience in a welcoming workplace focused on skill-building and community connection.
The partnership has earned Port City Pretzels recognition as a 2026 Business of the Year by Business NH Magazine, highlighting both business success and a commitment to inclusive hiring practices.
For YTS participant Ayden, working for Port City Pretzels has been life-changing. “I do love the job stuff here. I love everybody here. I call them my ‘work family,’” he said. “I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them.”
Port City Pretzels owner Suzanne Foley says that sense of belonging is intentional. “Our culture here is open and welcoming,” she said. “Working with Easterseals NH fits that perfectly.”
