Easterseals NH’s Annette Escalante Appointed to State Commission
Escalante named to NH Governor’s Commission on Alcohol and Other Drugs
Manchester, NH – Easterseals New Hampshire is pleased to announce that Annette Escalante, senior vice president of substance use services at Farnum, has been appointed to the NH Governor’s Commission on Alcohol and Other Drugs.
Escalante, who has overseen Farnum since September 2020, will serve on the commission’s Treatment Task Force. The task force advises on policy and best practices for delivering quality, accessible, and inclusive treatment for substance use disorders.
“Annette understands the complexity of addiction and its effect on individuals, families, and the greater community,” said Maureen Beauregard, president and CEO of Easterseals NH, VT & Farnum. “We’re proud of her appointment. New Hampshire will benefit, as we have, from her insights and knowledge.”
A master licensed alcohol and drug counselor, Escalante has over 27 years of clinical and administrative experience in health and human services. Her extensive career includes leadership roles at the NH Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Treatment and the Greater Nashua Council on Alcoholism – Keystone Hall.
“I am honored to be part of the Governor’s Commission,” said Escalante. “Substance use disorders are among New Hampshire’s most pressing public health concerns, yet only a small percentage of our residents get the help they need. I look forward to working with the distinguished members of the commission, the governor, and the legislature to make treatment more widely available and accessible.”
The Governor’s Commission on Alcohol and Other Drugs was established in 2000 to reduce alcohol and other drug problems and their behavioral, health, and social consequences for New Hampshire citizens.
