I recently had the opportunity to talk about our strategic plan at the Easterseals Vermont Staff Celebration, and it struck me that one of the four pillars of the plan is truly at the heart of what we do: Serve.
Serving means helping people of all abilities live, learn, work, and play in their communities. It means delivering compassionate, high-quality care, removing barriers, and creating opportunities for individuals and families to thrive.
But serving isn’t just the responsibility of employees who work directly with the people who count on us. It’s something every one at Easterseals NH & VT contributes to, regardless of their role.
Our staff who work as direct support professionals, educators, nurses, clinicians, or caregivers see the impact of their work firsthand. They help people build skills, gain independence, overcome challenges, and achieve goals that matter to them. Their dedication is awe-inspiring.
Yet the contributions of those behind the scenes are just as essential. Staff who make sure employees have the resources they need, keep our buildings safe, support technology, or help tell our story make quality services possible. That’s important.
Our Strategic Plan challenges us to think beyond individual programs and departments. By working together across our organization, sharing knowledge, and connecting people with the right services, we can provide a more seamless experience and better outcomes for those we serve.
As we celebrate our 90th year, I am proud that we’re honoring a remarkable legacy of service while building an even stronger future.
At Easterseals NH & VT, our mission is at the heart of everything we do.
