Morgan has always thrived on connection—whether through her local Best Buddies events or time spent at overnight camps. But after one summer at Camp Sno-Mo, she found something even deeper: a place where her love of music, adventure, and independence could truly shine in a safe and welcoming environment.
Morgan’s family first learned about Camp Sno-Mo by attending local events. Brian, her father, recalls seeing an advertisement for it at the annual Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Concord. After Morgan attended a different camp the previous year, the family was eager to find another place where she could continue to enjoy overnight camping.

A Summer to Remember
Morgan’s week at Camp Sno-Mo was filled with all the classic camp fun—fishing, horseback riding, archery, swimming, painting, singing, and dancing. Her musical talents also shone brightly. She earned a certificate as the camp’s “Most Musical Camper,” and proudly shared her love of bluegrass and Americana music with fellow campers.
Maria, Camp Sno-Mo’s assistant director, gave the family a detailed tour of the space. The camp’s location, just 35 minutes from their home in Lee, was ideal—it was close enough to feel manageable but still far enough for Morgan to have her own space and adventure.

From the moment they arrived, Ava, Morgan’s one-on-one counselor, made an impression. “Before I had even unpacked Morgan’s things, Ava was already making her bed and taking care of all the little details we usually handle when taking Morgan to camp,” Brian recalled. “We were just not used to that level of attention, so it was really nice.” Unlike other camps Morgan had attended, Camp Sno-Mo also offered air-conditioned rooms, another small comfort that made a big difference.
A Lasting Impact
For Brian, one of the aspects that set Camp Sno-Mo apart was the way Morgan could interact with members of Scouting America New Hampshire, earning merit badges alongside them for completing various activities. It was a new level of inclusion that Morgan hadn’t experienced at previous camps. Camp staff also allowed Morgan to bring and use her iPod, as Brian noted that she sometimes needs music to help her fall asleep.
While Morgan enjoyed her week at camp, Brian and his partner, Melissa, took advantage of the time to enjoy some well-deserved respite.
Looking back, Brian can’t say enough good things about Morgan’s experience at Camp Sno-Mo. “It was wonderful,” he shared. “Well-manicured, well-taken care of, top-notch staff, top-notch organization. A real well-oiled machine.” Overall, the family appreciated the smooth drop-off, the camp’s attentiveness, and the sense of security that let Morgan thrive.
