Community-Based Services home undergoes complete renovation

Spruce Keys is a newly refurbished home on Spruce Street in Manchester, NH. The three-month-long project has created a modern, comfortable living space for nine individuals whom we serve.

Spruce Keys, one of our more than 20 Community-Based Services (CBS) homes across New Hampshire, has undergone a complete makeover.

The Manchester, New Hampshire, residence features three, 3-bedroom units complete with modern kitchens and laundry rooms. Renee Fisher, our Senior Vice President of Long Term Supports and Services, gave a quick tour of the newly refurbished property in a short video.

The three-month project has created a modern, comfortable living space for nine women whom we serve in our Community-Based Services program. “These individuals receive the extra help they need, like transportation to work, from our dedicated staff of 27 on a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week basis,” Renee says. “With this new home, Easterseals NH no longer requires a rental property, which costs $54,000 annually to rent.”

What is Community-Based Services?

Easterseals NH’s Community-Based Services (CBS) program helps adults with intellectual disabilities and acquired brain injuries achieve stability, well-being, and fulfillment in their day-to-day activities. In 2023, we empowered 197 people to live, learn, work, and play in their communities.

As part of CBS’ Staffed Residential Services, we support our individuals in shared living spaces and provide them with safe, stable environments in which to thrive, with 24-hour-a-day staffing for those in need of more intense support. We are proud to provide 20 of these homes to a total of 53 men and women across the Granite State who receive our services.
