Easterseals NH Inaugural Expo for Foster Care Youth a Success

Manchester, NH – Easterseals NH held its first ever All Youth Count Resource & Career Exploration Fair on Saturday afternoon at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manchester. Over 20 vendors met with teens and young adults at the free event to share information and advice on everything from housing and financial assistance to careers and health services.

“When youth exit the foster care system, they are in many cases on their own to find a job, pay for healthcare, make rent, and everything else that comes with adulthood,” said Benjamin Adams, Easterseals NH All Youth Count Program Director. “The goal of All Youth Count’s first ever Resource & Career Exploration Fair was to give youth direct and easy access to the services and resources they need to make the transition to independent living.”

“We appreciate all of the companies, business leaders, and community partners who donated their time and expertise at our first resource fair,” said Pamela Hawkes, Easterseals NH Chief Development Officer. “Your participation made a difference for our attendees on so many levels, now and in the long term.”

Companies and organizations represented at the event included CCSNH, the United States Postal Service, Vocational Rehabilitation New Hampshire, Apprenticeship NH, New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association, NH Manufacturing Extension Sector, Southern NH Services / WIOA Adult.

NH Employment Security, NH Army National Guard – SFC, NH Division of State Police – Colonel Nathan Noyes, NH Division of Fire Safety, NH Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), NH Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HSEM), NH Division of Emergency Services and Communications, NH Division of Fire Standards & Training & Emergency Medical Services, NH Division of Administration Dept. of Safety, New Hampshire Good Roads Association, Youth Villages – Lifeset, and New Hampshire Jobs for America’s Graduates (NH JAG).

All Youth Count, a program of Easterseals NH Workforce Development, is a public-private partnership between Easterseals NH, the NH Division for Children, Youth & Families (DCYF), and private sector partners that supports youth up to 26 years of age who are in or have exited foster care.
