Manchester, NH, April 29, 2024–Easterseals NH has received a significant donation from the Bernadine Herron estate and is dedicating recreational offerings in her name at both the Easterseals Military and Veterans Campus in Franklin and at the Gammon Academy New School in Manchester.
In honor of a transformative gift from the estate of Bernadine Herron of Hampton, New Hampshire, the Hub of Services and Retreat Center at the Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Campus in Franklin, NH will be named The Bernadine Herron Center. The climbing wall and ropes course in Phase II of the Military & Veterans Campus will also be dedicated to her.
In addition, a Bernadine Herron estate gift benefits the playground at the New Gammon Academy Residential Education School in Manchester.
“This generous gift from the Bernadine Herron estate will provide opportunities for relaxation and social connection among our veterans, service members, and their families, and it will also enrich the lives of young people with significant developmental and behavioral disabilities,” said Maureen Beauregard, President and CEO of Easterseals NH & VT. “We are extremely grateful for this legacy gift, which will make a real impact in the lives of many for years to come.”
A brief ceremony was held at Easterseals NH headquarters in Manchester, New Hampshire on April 17, during which a plaque was unveiled in recognition of the donation. Tom and Tamme Dustin, co-trustees of the Bernadine Herron Estate, were in attendance.

Bernadine Herron was the co-founder of Herron & Smith, LLC, which is a provider of medical equipment and services in Hooksett and still exists today. She held a nursing degree from North Wheeling Hospital in West Virginia and worked both at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington, D.C. and at Elliot Hospital in New Hampshire.
