Eversource Walk & 5K Run for Easterseals NH returns on June 6

Hundreds are expected to lace up in downtown Manchester for children and adults of all abilities

Manchester, NH, May 29, 2024– Easterseals New Hampshire is renewing its partnership with leading energy provider Eversource to power change and independence in the community. On Thursday, June 6, more than 1,000 participants will lace up and hit the streets of downtown Manchester for the 26th annual Eversource Walk & 5K Run for Easterseals NH, which starts and ends at Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Teams, individuals, and families are expected to gather at the park at around 4 pm for Wellness Alley, where there will be assorted vendor tables, food trucks, face painting, and opportunities to take in views of the Queen City from the Eversource bucket truck. Easterseals NH Senior Director of Human Resources Heath Hooper will also reprise his role as the event’s DJ and emcee to keep the atmosphere fun and lively. A shotgun start to the race will follow park festivities at approximately 6:20 pm.

Proceeds from the Walk & 5K Run benefit Easterseals NH’s core programs, which consist of thoughtfully integrated services and on-the-ground supports to thousands of individuals of all ages and abilities annually, including children, adults, seniors, and veterans. Last month, Easterseals NH held a kick-off breakfast to provide race team captains with the necessary tools to recruit additional event attendees. The team that raises the most funds will be awarded a table for eight at the agency’s Annual Celebration in November, while the top three individual fundraisers will each receive gift certificates to Runner’s Alley.

Since 1998, Eversource has teamed up with Easterseals NH to collectively raise more than $3 million for the agency’s programs from its Walk & 5K Run, including more than $140,000 from last year’s event.
