Support for At-Risk Teens and Young Adults
All Youth Count (AYC) is a public-private partnership between Easterseals NH, New Hampshire Division of Youth and Families, and private sector partners that helps foster care youth and those who have recently left foster care, aged 14 to 26. The program assists them in leading successful, independent lives. Through a combination of supportive employment, vocational mentorship, and individualized support, AYC helps at-risk youth overcome barriers to independence and stability.
Why We’re Here
Numerous national studies have shown that youth between 18 and 21 who “age out” of foster care without being adopted or reunited with biological parent(s) are at substantially higher risk of homelessness, incarceration, unemployment, substance misuse, and isolation. In addition, these same studies show that more than 30% of youth 21 years of age who are no longer in foster care are disconnected from work and school. Support from individuals and businesses in our community through organizations like Easterseals NH is critical to help make an impact.

Success Story: Kara
AYC’s intervention helped Kara and her son stay on their feet when a change in employment threatened their housing and financial situation. To position them for long-term success, AYC provided financial assistance for childcare and provided coaching on financial management. Working with one of our program’s partners, AYC helped Kara enroll in and complete a Licensed Nursing Assistant certification training, which led to a better job. AYC staff also assisted Kara in adjusting her housing voucher so that she qualified for a Family Self-Sufficiency escrow savings account that grows as her household income increases. With AYC support, Kara can achieve financial independence and pursue a career helping others, thus benefiting her family and her community.
